The Visitor Hub will deliver a world-class experience for everyone coming to Carrickfergus. It will serve as both a flagship landmark and a welcoming gateway, guiding visitors to the Castle, town centre and seafront, while celebrating the town’s rich heritage and culture.
Key Ambitions:
The new Visitor Centre will act as a vibrant gateway to Carrickfergus Town. It will welcome people with friendly staff, clear information and facilities. Inside, visitors can buy tickets for attractions, explore and orientate, and even try an interactive digital storytelling experience that brings 800 years of history to life. Upstairs, a signature viewing area will offer panoramic views across Belfast Lough and to the Castle, and act as a multi-use space for a wide array of events from visiting exhibitions to conferences.
The Visitor Hub won’t just be about the Castle it will also show off everything Carrickfergus has to offer. From the Town Walls, to the museum, visitors will be encouraged to explore more of the town and lengthen their stay.
The high calibre visitor experience offered is intended not only to attract more visitors to the town, but also to serve as a flagship and anchor tenant for the High Street. The Visitor Hub is designed to drive footfall into the Town Centre, creating opportunities and encouraging investment both within the building and across local businesses, as demand and footfall rise.
We are always keen to hear from you. If you have any questions about the project, get in touch.
